Built for the realities of timber.
Timberhub was founded by people who saw firsthand how fragmented, manual, and opaque timber trade had become. We decided to do something about it — not with a generic platform, but by building infrastructure that works the way timber professionals actually operate. Technology that enhances relationships and expertise, not replaces them.
Built slowly, on purpose.
We grew at the pace the trade demands: slowly, outward, without shortcuts. Each year added another layer of network, product, and operational depth.
Started building Timberhub from a small office in Amsterdam.
70+ sawmills in the network. 22 countries served.
Geolocation, due diligence statements, audit-ready evidence. Every order, no exceptions.
On-premise AI layer connecting prices, stock, supplier terms, and compliance records.
Timber trade is built on trust. We are building the infrastructure for it.
Timber trade has always run on personal relationships: buyers who know their suppliers, salespeople who know their customers. That foundation is valuable, but it doesn’t scale, and it doesn’t protect companies from the operational complexity regulation is bringing.
Timberhub handles both sides: a trusted network where timber companies trade reliably, and the operational infrastructure to make compliance manageable. One integrated platform, because trading and compliance are inseparable in practice.
We also built an AI layer for our own trading operations, an on-premise system that connects pricing, stock, supplier terms, and compliance records, and automates the routine work between them. We use it every day. We built it because we needed it ourselves.
Industry-first thinking
We don’t apply generic software to timber. We start with how the trade actually works, relationships, product complexity, cross-border logistics, and build around that.
Operational, not informational
Workflows that handle the problem, not dashboards that describe it. Compliance that gets filed. An AI system that runs the routine so your team doesn’t have to.
Deforestation-free from day one
We have never listed timber that couldn’t be traced to a legal, verified source. Not a marketing decision, the only way we wanted to operate.
Long-term partnerships
We’re not here to process transactions. We want to understand your business well enough to add real value, on sourcing and on audits.
